LOVE IS STRONGER THAN BETRAYAL
So, picture this: Mary stepped into Elizabeth and Richards life when their son James was just a baby. She wasnt just a nannyshe became Jamess guardian angel, honestly. Elizabeth, who was always wrapped up in her own affairs, couldnt help but notice how her son would turn to that other woman whenever something was wrong. And of course, it ate away at herproper leafy green envy that grew bitter in her heart.
When James turned eight, Elizabeth decided she needed Mary out for good. Richard, absolutely not on board, tried to stop her from getting rid of such a kind and good woman. But Elizabeth stooped lowshe hid her diamond necklace under Marys mattress and called the police. Poor Marycrying, devastated by the injusticewas sentenced to two years inside. James was screaming, clinging to her as they took her away in handcuffs, but they just dragged him off.
Twenty years pass.
Now, James is 28 and successful, but hes never stopped missing the one person who gave him real warmth. Meanwhile, Elizabeth fell gravely illdeath seemed just outside the door but wouldnt come inside. Her suffering was unbearable.
One night, desperate, she called James to her bedside, tears streaming down her face, and confessed:
James, I cant die Its like death refuses me because of this awful sin. I destroyed an innocent womans life. Please, find Mary. Bring her here. I beg you.
James finally found Mary in a little cottage on the edge of town. She had aged, and her hands were rough from years of hard graft, but her eyes were the samefull of kindness and forgiveness.
Mother Mary James whispered, hugging her tight. My real mums asking you to come. Shes leaving us, and she needs your forgiveness.
Without a second thought, Mary went along. When they stepped into the bedroom, Elizabeth, frail and weak, trembled at the sight of her.
Hello, Mary… she whispered, reaching out with a shaking hand.
Mary moved forward and gently took Elizabeths hand in hers.
Forgive me, Mary. Forgive me for what I did to you. Ive sinned terribly, and now Im tormented. God wont take me until you say the word
Mary looked down at the woman whod once sent her to prison, and somehow, her heart held no room for anger.
I forgave you long ago, Elizabeth. Sleep peacefully.
Elizabeth let out a deep sighthe lines on her face softened. She looked at her son one last time, then shifted her gaze to Mary:
My son hes your charge now. Please look after him.
Elizabeth passed away that very night. Mary, finally, became a true mother to James, holding her rightful place in his home. James surrounded her with the care shed been denied for years. Soon after, he met a wonderful woman and married her. Mary gave them her blessing like she was their very own grandmother. In the end, truth prevailedand kindness healed every old wound.
