Kelly Clarkson’s Heartwarming Family Performance at Bakkt Theater
Kelly Clarkson delivered a memorable performance of her hit song “Heartbeat Song” at the Bakkt Theater in Las Vegas, joined by her 9-year-old daughter, River Rose, and son, Remington “Remy” Alexander. The family trio brought the audience to their feet with their touching rendition of the popular synth-pop track.
“Heartbeat Song” holds a special place in their hearts, especially for River Rose, who joined her mother on stage to sing her favorite song. Clarkson shared with the crowd that River had been a fan of the song since she was a toddler and had even insisted on performing it during the tour. Remy, showing no signs of stage fright, naturally took to the spotlight, making the performance even more special.
Supporters were thrilled by the family’s performance, with many expressing how unforgettable the moment was. Comments like, “That’s a moment she will never forget,” and “A star is born!” flooded in after the show. River Rose was so impressive that Clarkson invited her back on stage the following night, this time with her 7-year-old brother Remington joining in, adding an extra layer of charm to the performance.
Kelly Clarkson & Daughter River Rose Sing “Heartbeat Song” Together
Clarkson shares her two children, River Rose and Remington Alexander, with her ex-husband, Brandon Blackstock, whom she married in October 2013. The couple welcomed River in June 2014 and Remington in April 2016. Their divorce was finalized in March 2022 after a lengthy legal process that garnered significant media attention.
“Heartbeat Song” was the lead single from Clarkson’s seventh studio album, *Piece by Piece*. Released in 2015, the song became one of her biggest hits of the decade, earning platinum status in the U.S. and topping the US Dance Club Songs chart, among others.
The song was written by Mitch Allan, Kara DioGuardi, Jason Evigan, and Audra Mae, but its melody drew comparisons to Jimmy Eat World’s 2001 hit “The Middle.” Addressing the controversy, Clarkson explained that while she didn’t write the song, she appreciated Jimmy Eat World’s gracious response, noting that “there are only so many chords.”
Despite the similarities, no lawsuit ensued, and Jimmy Eat World was not added to the songwriting credits for “Heartbeat Song.” The performance at Bakkt Theater remains a beautiful testament to the bond between Clarkson and her children, and a reminder of her enduring connection with her fans.
