The girl looked around, but there was no one behind the bench. And the phone in the bushes kept ringing. Jodie got up from the bench and, sighing, climbed into the bushes, looking for the source of the sound. Finally, she felt the vibrating device in the grass, climbed out of the bushes, but it had already stopped ringing.
Fortunately, the phone did not have a password, so Jodie opened the missed calls and saw that a Henry called. She dialed the number and was immediately answered by a young man.
– Hello! – said Jodie, – I found your phone in the park, in the bushes.
– Oh, thank you for calling me back, – the guy happily exclaimed, – this is my grandmother’s phone, she was walking in the park in the morning, and she felt bad with her heart; passers-by called an ambulance, and the phone must have been lost in the confusion. Girl, dear, can you take my grandmother’s phone to the hospital; unfortunately, I am in another city now, the doctor told me everything, – Henry asked.
Jodie thought a bit, but decided to agree. Henry explained in detail where to take the phone. When the girl arrived at the hospital, the nurse for some reason decided that she was the patient’s granddaughter and took Jodie straight to the ward.
A small, thin and very pale grandmother was lying on the bed. She looked at Jodie and asked:
– Where is Henry?
– Henry is on a business trip, – said Jodie, – I brought you the phone, you lost it.
Jodie put the phone on the bedside table closer to her grandmother. Grandma smiled weakly.
– I’m going to go, Jodie said.
– Child, and you are a girl Henry, – Grandma suddenly asked, – you are a good couple.
– No, – blushed Jodie, – I just found the phone and called your grandson.
– Okay, go,” the grandmother said a little offended.
The nurse on the way out asked Jodie for the phone number, and she dictated it, not knowing why. The next day Jodie was sitting in class at the university when her phone rang. It was a doctor from the hospital who asked her to come because a patient had taken a turn for the worse; they needed to look after her and there were not enough nurses. Jodie tried to refuse and explain that she was not a relative, but the doctor had already hung up.
After the lectures, Jodie went to the hospital to explain that she was not a relative, but when she went to the ward and saw the unhappy old woman, she decided to stay.
For three days, the girl sat at the bedside of the seriously ill woman and followed all the doctor’s instructions. On the fourth day the grandmother felt better, and Jodie was completely exhausted and went home.
The next morning Jodie went to the hospital again to see how her ward was doing and found out that Henry had arrived. She entered the ward and saw a very handsome young man at her grandmother’s bedside. When he saw Jodie, he jumped up, ran to her and gave her a big hug.
– I don’t know how to thank you: you have done so much for me and my grandmother, – Henry exclaimed.
– “It’s okay, I was just helping my grandmother, I felt sorry for her,” Jodie muttered, blushing.
– Still, I want to thank you; let’s go to a cafe or a movie tonight, – Henry suggested, – don’t refuse, please.
Jodie thought a little and agreed. Henry happily jumped on the spot, which touched Jodie very much. And Grandma looked at them happily and shook her head.
