One evening, when the hospital in Manchester was quiet, a loud scream suddenly pierced the silence. The doctors rushed toward the sound, only to stumble upon a scene that left them stunned.
Under the dim glow of the empty reception hall, the stillness was broken by soft but deliberate footsteps. The on-duty doctor glanced up from his paperwork, and together with the nurse, hurried to find out what had caused the noise.
When they reached the entrance, everything seemed calmuntil they spotted a shadow moving toward them in the dark. Their breath caught as they flicked the lights on, revealing a disciplined Alsatian standing before them. Clutched in its mouth was a carefully wrapped bundle, stained with a deep crimson liquid. The nurses heart skipped a beat.
Every step the dog took was precise, as if it had practiced this moment a hundred times. As it approached, the dog gently set the package down and let out a sharp bark, urging them to act fast.
When the doctors peeled back the wrapping, horror gripped themwhat they saw inside shook them to the core.
The doctor and nurse froze, struggling to believe their eyes. Inside lay a girl, no older than ten, trembling and pale, her messy blonde hair tangled. Her small frame was smeared with dirt and flecks of blood, but faint breaths still rose from her fragile chest.
The Alsatian stood nearby, watching every movement with sharp eyes. There was worry in its gaze, as if it knew the girl was safebut its job wasnt over yet.
“We have to move quickly,” the nurse whispered, her voice barely steady.
Carefully, they lifted the child onto a stretcher, only to notice the dog following close behind, never once looking away.
Down the hospital corridor, staff scrambled into actionIV drips, oxygen masks, warm blanketseverything ready.
But the dog didnt back off. It gave a soft whine as the girl was settled onto the bed, then curled up beside her, standing guard like a silent protector.
