If my mother wants to, she can always find a reason and words to offend someone. No wonder Maria doesn’t want to let her granddaughter go to her

My mother is quite a beautiful and well-groomed woman. She will never be fifty-five, and many people still approach her on the street. Because of the kind of woman she is, she likes to humiliate other women, especially the less beautiful ones. Like my Maria. To me, of course, my wife is the most beautiful, and I don’t particularly care how she dresses for work or what she wears around the house, how often she dyes her hair or dyes her roots. She’s the best person I know, and I feel really good with her.

But to my mother, Maria’s beauty isn’t like that. And when she wants to hit on my wife, she constantly pokes her nose in the fact that she could get out to the beauty parlor or the gym more often for my sake. I strongly disagree. Maria takes care of herself and is against anything over the top, plus, we’re thinking about having a second child, and I wouldn’t want Maria to go crazy on a diet. It’s just a miracle that she doesn’t react so acutely to my mother’s comments. Except that our daughter, who just turned four, flatly refuses to let her go to her mother.

Maria is afraid that her mother will humiliate her granddaughter, lower her self-esteem, or lecture her. But I think Maria is also afraid that mom might turn her daughter against us. It’s just that mom has a bad temper and her own views that don’t agree with ours, although I don’t think she would have much effect if we brought her granddaughter to visit at least once a month.

What do you think? Could the grandmother be teaching her granddaughter the wrong things? Or is my wife worried for nothing?
