Sarah lived in her old cabin. She had three children, the children grew up, got married, each had children of their own. The woman lived alone. One day the children even decided to sell their mother’s house, saying the land was expensive, they would quickly buy her house. And they would take their mother with them, but they would have to give the dog to their friend, and let her take the cat with her.
– Mother, go for it. It’s not like we’re giving you to a nursing home! – one of the daughters said.
– How can I leave, I have nothing but my house. – Sarah cried.
– We will take care of you. Do not worry. – said his son Vincent.
The house was sold. They argued for a long time about who would take the grandmother first.
In the end, Vincent took her for a couple of months before his wife made a scandal.
– I will not eat with her anymore, she quacks all over the house. – Shouted Vincent’s wife.
– She’ll hear you! Well, take it to the room then, let her eat there! – he said to his wife!
– That’s more! Then go after her with a broom.
So every time Sarah wandered into her children’s homes, until one of her daughters blamed her for her and her husband’s quarrel.
– It was all your fault and your house! We didn’t get any money. You’re always getting in the way of our lives. Throw that cat away! – said the daughter to her mother.
– How to throw it away, he’s my old friend,” replied grandmother.
Taking the cat under her arm, she went to her village, only on the way she felt ill. A stranger came up to her:
– Grandmother, are you all right? – Sam asked.
– Yes, son,” Sarah answered.
The boy took his grandmother to his house, which Sam’s young children woke up in the morning. The grandmother told them her story, and the guy told his own, that he and his wife were from an orphanage. They have four children, two also from the orphanage, the other two were born to his wife.
As time went by, the children became very fond of their grandmother, they played with the cat all the time, Sarah got a new family, and the children got a grandmother. Sarah’s own children never remembered their mother again.
