I Was Disappointed in My Partner and Left Her Right After Visiting Her Home

I was married for 13 years, but my ex-wife was never a classic beauty. In her youth, she was delicate and graceful, and that was what attracted me to her.

I cannot say she was stunning, but she always knew how to take care of herself. She wore only expensive lingerie, and almost all the shelves in our bathroom were filled with her creams, perfumes, personal hygiene products, and cosmetics.

There were an incredible number of them, but my wife always smelled amazing. We both earned well, so she could afford it.

My ex-wife never allowed herself to lounge around the house in stretched-out clothes, and her hair was always well-groomed. I like women like that. It just so happened that we have been divorced for five years now.

During this time, I had relationships with other women, but none of them turned into anything serious. That was until I met Emily. She is a very beautiful and attractive woman, delicate in appearance, but highly competent in managing a team of men.

I decided not to miss my chance and pursued a closer relationship with her. At first, we just talked, but later, I invited her to my place. I didn’t cook anything for dinner—I ordered everything from a restaurant—but I set the table myself.

The evening went great, and Emily stayed over for the night. After that, she started visiting me often, but it bothered me that she never brought any cosmetics, a change of clothes, or even lingerie.

In the mornings, I would see her in a rather unkempt state—her makeup smudged on her face. I also didn’t like that after taking a shower, she would put on the same clothes. To be honest, this disappointed me greatly.

One day, Emily invited me to her place. The moment I stepped into her apartment, I was in shock. Based on her behavior at my home, I assumed her place would be messy, but I saw something completely different.

Inside, everything was fresh and modern, recently renovated, with high-quality, expensive furniture and materials. In the bathroom, when I went to wash my hands, I only found shampoo and toothpaste on the shelf. This really saddened me.

When I was married, I got used to our bathroom being filled with all kinds of bottles, with different fragrances lingering in the air. I believe that the more cosmetics a woman has, the more she respects herself. Emily recently turned 33, yet she hasn’t even started taking care of herself or her skin. Isn’t she afraid of aging signs?

Another surprise awaited me on the balcony. There, I saw completely ordinary and rather unattractive underwear hanging to dry. She said that, for her, comfort was the most important thing.

I don’t know, maybe at 42, I am too picky and my beliefs cannot be changed, but I cannot live with a woman like that. We broke up, and I was the one who initiated it.
