I had this gut feeling something was off with my husband for ages. But then my husband walked over, hugged her like they were old mates, and started chatting away, grinning like I hadnt seen him do in months. My stomach dropped. I almost switched it off, but something made me keep watching.
After a minute, they started whispering. She pulled out a folder, showed him photospeoples faces with dates and weird notes scribbled next to them. He studied them, asked questions, and then they got into this intense discussion.
*”This one talks too much,”* the woman in pink said. *”Best get rid of him before the months out.”*
My husband just nodded and jotted something down.
I felt my whole body go numb. They werent having an affairthey were planning *murders*. Pricing them out, talking about covering their tracks, whod get paid. All those smiles, the jokesit turned my stomach.
Id been jealous over another woman. Now? I *wished* thats all it was. Because the truth was so much worse. My husband wasnt just a cheathe was mixed up in something deadly.
