I Made the Decision to Have My Mother-in-Law Move in With Us Because She Was Seriously Ill

Ever since I was a child, Ive always been the sort of person who would lend a hand, even to someone I didnt get along with. I never imagined my mother-in-law would fall into that category. Contrary to every stereotype, my mother-in-law is a lovely womankind and courteous in every way. Recently, she was unfortunate enough to become seriously ill; she was hospitalised and needed time to recuperate afterwards.

So, without talking it over with my husband, I decided to bring her home with us so that we could look after her properly. I thought my husband would be grateful that I was caring so well for his mum, but all the way home, she seemed downcast, almost as if she wanted to say something but couldnt quite find the courage. Once we got back, I helped her inside, made up her bed, and headed to the kitchen to prepare some soup for her. I wanted both my mother-in-law and husband to feel at ease and cared for.

Sadly, things took a turn for the worse once my husband got home. When he saw his mum in bed, he demanded to know what that freeloader was doing in our house and insisted she should leave immediately. I barely managed to keep him from throwing her out. If I hadnt stepped in, he truly would have kicked his own mother out of our home. Were still married, but Im bitterly disappointed by his behaviour.
