I Love Updating My Photos: Friends Drop By to Check In, Worry About My Weight, and Wonder if I’ve Cracked from Happiness…

I love updating photos.
Everyone immediately comes over,
looks, worries…
Has she gained weight? Cracked from happiness?
We live in a world where pictures have become windows into our lives. Change a profile picture, upload a new photoand suddenly, old contacts reappear, as if theyve forgotten your number but never miss a chance to click “view.”
On one hand, its amusing: post a snapshot, and instantly, attention follows. People start inspectingHave you put on weight? Changed? Happy? Each glance carries curiosity, sometimes concern.
On the other, it proves how reliant we are on visual cues. Often, no one outright asks, How are you?they just study the photo. Do the eyes sparkle or tire? Is the smile genuine or forced?
Theres beauty and irony in this. A photo becomes a way to tell the world, Im here, Im fine, or silently ask for attention.
No wonder we love updating pictures. Even a like or comment means being seen, not forgotten.
And most importantlymay every new photo hold less judgment, more genuine joy. Whether from happiness or knowing someone truly cares.
