I enjoy updating photos.
Everyone instantly drops by as if visiting,
studying them, worrying…
Did I gain weight? Did I crack from too much joy?
We live in a world where pictures are like windows into our lives. Change a profile photo or post a new oneand suddenly, the same faces appear, seemingly forgetting your phone number yet never failing to hit view.
On one hand, its amusing: update a picture, and attention follows instantly. People scrutinizedid you gain weight, change, seem happy? Each glance is its own small act of curiosity, sometimes even concern.
On the other hand, it proves how dependent we are on visuals. Often, no one asks, How are you? directlythey analyze the photo instead: Are your eyes bright or tired? Is that smile genuine or forced?
Theres beauty and irony in this. A photo becomes a way to declare, Im here, Im fine, or, subtly, to ask for attention.
No wonder we love refreshing our pictures. Even a like or comment is a tiny proof were noticed, not alone.
Most importantlymay every new photo carry less scrutiny and more real joy: whether from happiness or the people who truly care.
I Love to Update My Photos: Everyone Drops By to Check In, Worrying If I’ve Gained Weight or if I’ve Cracked from Happiness…
