I don’t want, like my mother-in-law, to plow like a slave all my life, be left alone and get so sick in my old age

I am married and I have only one dream: to have a normal vacation. Unfortunately, in my weekends I do not have time to do this. My oldest son goes to school and my youngest daughter goes to kindergarten. I have to cook meals, do laundry, clean the apartment, iron, do homework with my older son, make him some crafts for school. It takes up so much of my time and energy. My husband doesn’t help me at all, because his mother told him to do it.

She raised her two sons on her own without her husband’s help. That’s why my mother-in-law is convinced that I should do the same thing. How I long to live separately from my mother-in-law! My mother-in-law has a dacha, to which she very often makes me go as well. Of course, I work there a lot, too.

My mother-in-law looks very bad and her back hurts a lot. And all because she never took pity on herself and didn’t rest properly.

Three years ago my husband left my mother-in-law and found a younger woman. But my mother-in-law took care of her husband all his life, did not force him to do any housework. But she herself worked without rest. But it didn’t help, and her husband left her. And she made such sacrifices for him.

Today I could hardly carry my mother-in-law’s bags of vegetables from the country house. And in the meantime my husband stayed in town. He was resting on the couch, playing computer games. He didn’t even come to the train station to meet us! I decided that I would have a serious talk with my husband: either he would help me with household chores or I would divorce him altogether!

I want to live a normal life. I want to rest, not to work like a slave with no days off and no rest. I don’t want to get sick and look as awful as my mother-in-law!
