It wasn’t long ago that I had such dreams of getting married. But unfortunately, my wedding to Mark never happened. Why? Because while my family was getting ready for our wedding, Mark and his mom were redoing the property.
My name is Victoria. I am 25 years old. I graduated from university and I earn good money. When I met Mark, I was very happy. Six months later, Mark and I decided to get married. Everything with us was great.
My parents really liked Mark. And I was very happy that we even had a place to live. After all, my grandmother had given me her apartment three years ago, and she had moved to her dacha. While my parents and I were looking for a restaurant, choosing my dress, and thinking about the menu, it turned out that Mark and his mom had other things to do and problems.
Turns out Mark had a nice apartment downtown. It was very convenient for us to commute to work, both Mark and I. That’s why we decided that we were going to rent my apartment. We were going to live in Mark’s apartment.
And then it turned out that Mark had been lying to me all along. Turns out the apartment was in Mark’s name, not his mom’s, like he told me. And while we were getting ready to get married, Mark registered his car and apartment to his mom. I don’t understand why he did that. After all, it’s pre-marital property and if Mark and I were to divorce, we wouldn’t share the car or the apartment.
– Why? – I asked Mark and his mom when I found out.
– And just in case! Life is a very unpredictable thing! – Mark’s mom told me.
I was outraged by Mark and his mom’s behavior. So I just called off the wedding and broke up with Mark.
– Who cares who gets the car and the apartment? That’s not why you wanted to marry my son! – Mark’s mom called me the other day.
I just hung up and never answered her calls again. I would have married Mark if he didn’t have a car or an apartment. But the fact that he cheated on me, I can’t forgive him! I don’t want anything to do with that man!
