A few years ago my girlfriend and I went on vacation to the seaside resort. We made reservations in advance for rooms at the best of the hotels, which rested every time. We liked it clean, quiet place, away from the hustle and bustle of the seafront.
It was a short walk to the sea. The beach is equipped. There are few people and the food there is excellent. Besides, the prices are reasonable. Everything began as always: we swam, sunbathed to the limit, had a rest as it is necessary. And on the eve of departure we decided to go to the beach to unwind. At night we decided to say goodbye to the sea.
And here I see something sparkling among sand in the reflections of moon. I pick it up and see it’s a diamond ring. Inside it is engraved – Frank. I froze. I looked around, there was no one around. We waited to see if anyone would come back looking. A friend came up and I asked her for advice. After all, according to the signs, the gold found should not be left at home. Well, not to throw it away! Then we decided to look for the owner on the Internet. World Wide Web, as they say, to help.
In the morning we had a train. We set off. There was a 55 year old woman and a man who was sleeping all the time. We began to get acquainted with her, talk. Eventually we got to talking and found out that she went on vacation as a present from her son. He decided to improve his mother’s health.
Everything would have been fine, but a misfortune happened: she lost her engagement ring, which her husband gave her on the beach. He is no longer alive. She started describing the ring. Exactly the one we found.
Obviously, apart from its value, it was dear to her as a memory. After all, they made inscriptions on each other’s rings back then. It characterized their mutual feelings. And she said all this with tears in her eyes. I didn’t explain anything, I just took the ring out of her suitcase and gave it to her. It’s hard to describe in words the look on her face.
Throughout the rest of the journey she shared stories from her life with us. At the same time she kept asking us questions. Upon arrival we gave each other our phone numbers. She said she would just have to thank us and invite us for tea and cake.
A week passed and a young man knocked on my door. As it turned out, it was her son. Our traveling companion. He decided to thank me for such a noble act and brought me a gift. More precisely, he asked me to go with him to the jewelry store. I went with him and chose a jewelry piece to my liking. Since then we have not parted from each other… I will marry him soon.
