After being married for 34 years, I have recently fallen in love. I don’t know what to do.

Alex is my name. This year, I turned 65. I am married but fell in love with another woman as a younger man. My wife is 62 years old. Our son is now older, is married, and has children. My wife and I became distant when our son got married and was older.

When we retired, I wanted us to purchase a house in the town. My wife was not interested. But, I persuaded her. Soon after, we got a small house. It was summer when we moved in. Although my wife didn’t like it, I loved living there in summer. She loved to read books and relax on the couch while watching TV. In no uncertain terms, she refused to help me in my garden. She claimed she was ill. It was all I could do.

In the fall, we moved back to the city. She was so happy. After a week, I packed my stuff up and returned to the city. It was a better place. My wife and I stayed in the village. We rarely see each other anymore.

I fell in love in the village with a woman. This year, she turned 60. She didn’t care about my feelings at first. Things are moving along well now. My wife wants me to divorce, but I worry about my son’s reaction. My wife tells me that I do all the housework. But I don’t. However, I do spend a lot time with the woman that I love.

My wife has not yet heard the news. I’m still unsure if I should tell my wife that I want to divorce her. I don’t know how to proceed.
