**Diary Entry**
He just walked away… And she had lived for him.
They’d spent seven years together. Seven long, exhausting years where Sophie had tried so hard to be perfect. Everything by the book: keeping the house spotless, caring, compromising, always putting him first. She’d mastered every part of being the “perfect wife”—just to feel needed, loved, irreplaceable. She was so afraid of being alone again that she’d lost herself somewhere along the way.
And still, he left.
Not in anger. Not during some heated argument. Just one evening, calmly and coldly, he packed his things and said,
“Sophie, I’m in love with someone else. I’m leaving.”
She nodded. Stood up. Quietly grabbed a suitcase. Packed his shirts, his socks, folded his ties neatly. Made sure he didn’t forget his phone charger. Even said,
“Take your razor—you’ll need it.”
Only when the door clicked shut behind him did the pain hit. She slid down the wall in the hallway and sobbed. Not because he was gone, but because once again, her “perfection” hadn’t been enough.
Her mate Emily was the first to rush over. Sophie sat there, hollow, staring at nothing. Emily tried shaking her awake—no use. Soon, the rest of the girls arrived. A full-on cavalry of support. One brought scones, another brought wine, some just held her tight.
“You did everything for him!” shouted Lily.
“He never deserved you!” insisted Hannah.
Sophie stayed silent. Their words drowned in the emptiness inside.
Then it was Alice who spoke up. The same Alice who never sugarcoated a thing.
“Enough moping,” she said bluntly. “He’ll come crawling back. They always do. He won’t find another doormat as patient and forgiving as you. But the real question is—do you even want him anymore?”
The room erupted in protests, scolding Alice for being too harsh. But Sophie suddenly whispered,
“Screw him.”
And in that whisper was no bitterness—just the first spark of something new. Women are strong. They can forgive, endure, wait. But when they’re betrayed, they learn to stand back up. Smile through the tears. Start over.
Because now, they’re not living for someone else.
They’re living for themselves.
**Lesson today:** Perfection is a prison. Walking away from someone who doesn’t see your worth isn’t losing—it’s the first step to finding yourself again.
