Great Job! Husband Spends Nights With His Current Wife, Days With His Ex – My Life With Frank, His Persistent Ex, and Never-Ending Drama

Well done! Husband with his current wife at night, ex-wife during the day

I’m 38 years old, and for the past two years, I’ve been living with a man who’s five years older than me. His name is George. Before we got together, George was married and he has two children. His ex-wife, Emily, doesn’t work and calls him every evening asking for money or some kind of help.

I’ve never been married before and I don’t have kids myself. You might say I can’t understand what it means to have children or a family, but that’s not true. I get it, and I know it’s not normal to live with one woman as your wife, only to be constantly running off to see another.

It feels as if Emily wants George back. She rings him daily, always with some new crisis. George goes to her place straight after work and doesn’t get home until late at night. Even during holidays, it’s the same storyshe calls, something’s wrong, and off he goes again. But why does George need to go every single time?

Emily’s got a big family, plenty of friends, and they all live nearby. The answer seems obvious to me: she’s trying to win him back. I’ve had enough. But what am I supposed to doleave him? Talking to George doesn’t help at all’t change anythinghe just shrugs and says she needs him.

One quiet evening, as George went out yet again, I found myself sitting alone, listening to the hollow echo of his absence. In that moment, I realized something important: despite all my attempts to understand and wait and hope, I had built my life around someone who was always halfway gone.

So, I picked up my phone and called a close friend. I spoke honestlyabout my doubts, my loneliness, and the shadow Emily still cast over our lives. It felt like opening a window to fresh air. That night, I packed a small bag and left George a letter on the kitchen table. I wrote that I deserved more than the scraps of someone else’s time, that love is not supposed to feel like waiting in line, and that, finally, my own happiness mattered most.

When the sun rose the next morning, I felt lighter than I had in years. George and I were two chapters that would never fit together in the same story, and Emily would always claim his heart before I could. The world outside was wide and brighta place where I no longer had to compete for affection, and where, for the first time, I could choose myself.

I stepped into a new day, certain that love awaits those courageous enough to demand what they deserve.
