Grandma always hated our mother, and my sister and I decided to teach her a good lesson. This is what happened next.

It so happened that our mother fell ill. Although my father worked and earned good money, all the money went to my mother’s treatment. My sister and I decided that we would work, I after school and she after university. We love our mother very much, but there is someone who did not love her, our grandmother, my father’s mother.

It so happened that every time we came, she talked to all of us, but did not pay attention to my mother, as if she was not there. So time passed, but nothing changed, she was constantly doing this. Once we were sitting at my grandmother’s house, having dinner with the whole family, my mother was sitting in the far corner on a chair, it was her place by right. As a result, when we started to leave, my grandmother said to me so quietly in a half voice:

– “Next time come all together, but without mom,” she said and smiled.

My sister and I felt so unpleasant, how can it be, what did my mother do to her?

– Grandma, why are you talking like that? We love mom and that’s all, she is our family, if not for her, we would not exist.

– But why do you love her? You should be grateful only to your father for what he does for you and your mother. And your mother could have gone to work already. She stays at home.

– We are grateful to him and love him no less. But we won’t do that to Mom. And you know very well that she can’t work now.

When mom heard how we defend her, she even cried, we went to hug her then. Grandma was not very pleased then. We left, grandma did not call us for a very long time, we tried to keep in touch with her, but she was still offended.

A few months later, on New Year’s Eve, she finally called:

– Granddaughter, come to me with the whole family, with your mother and father and sister. We will all celebrate, and everything will be as before. I missed you.

Grandma’s voice changed, as if she really understood her mistake, realized that she was wrong all this time. Of course, we came, my mother’s chair, which stood at the end of the hall, now stands in the center of the table.
