My son is almost three years old, and like all children at that age, he shows hyperactivity. And the main nightly grueling task is to get the child into bed. That’s right, because it’s not hard to put him to bed, but to make him lie down and calm down – it’s a real quest. But so far, we’re doing fine.
The problem is that my son is bored just to lie down for those few minutes that it takes for the brain to understand that he is tired and it’s time to go to bed. The child is constantly turning over, begins to thirst and hunger, urgently need to find that ball, which last year was put on the mezzanine, to put the designer in boxes, finish a puzzle and a thousand other more exciting than sleep.
And so, while going through the next task in the bedtime quest, my son happily runs to Daddy with a cube and shouts:
– Daddy, the phone!
Husband sighs heavily, presses the toy to his ear and answers:
– I’m listening to you.
– How are you? – Continues the child.
– Wonderful, and you?
– I’m fine.
– Yeah? So why aren’t you asleep yet?
The son squints at his father, clearly aware that the game is getting out of hand, thinks for a second or two, and then gives out:
– I can’t hear you very well, I’ll call you later!
