Found Family: Kindness in a Different Home

There are good-hearted people: I found a family in an unfamiliar home Three years ago, I moved to London from a small provincial town. I didn’t know anyone here. The streets were unfamiliar, the pace of life was overwhelming, and the people seemed distant.

I was scared.

I knew I was starting a new chapter in my life, but deep inside, I felt lost.

But then, Aunt Vera, you said to me: “Don’t worry, dear, we’ll help you. We’ll be like parents to you.”

You already knew that I had no parents around.

They are alive, but to me, they no longer existed. They did everything to keep me away from Daisy. They were against our relationship, they belittled her, pressured me, and forced me to choose. I couldn’t forgive them for that.

Thankfully, I had Grandma. She was the only person who always supported me. Thanks to her, I was able to afford a place to stay and didn’t have to live in a dorm.

But if it weren’t for you and Uncle Mike, I don’t know how I would have managed those first challenging months.

You became family to me I remember my first day at university.

You, Aunt Vera, asked Uncle Mike to drive me to the university so that I could get used to the route. I remember how he waited for me after classes with an ice cream in hand—it was unbearably hot, and he wanted to cheer me up.

And when we returned, the house was filled with the smell of fresh baking.

You made your special homemade pastries and invited me to dinner. The next day, the same thing. And then it became a tradition.

I listened to my classmates complain about terrible and greedy landlords, high prices, and constant troubles. Only I spoke about you with pride.

They couldn’t believe that people like you still existed.

You provided not just a roof over my head, but warmth I will never forget my first Student Day—December 8th.

That evening, there was a knock at the door.

I opened it… and saw Daisy.

And a bit further stood Uncle Mike, with a knowing smile.

It turned out you both found her, talked to her, convinced her to come back to me, put her in the car, and brought her here.

I couldn’t believe it!

I had never seen such care and genuine support, not even from my own family.

If it weren’t for you, Daisy might never have come to this city. She wouldn’t have enrolled here. We wouldn’t be together.

But you didn’t just reunite us.

You accepted her as you accepted me. You didn’t raise the rent, didn’t create obstacles. You were simply there.

And for that, I am grateful.

You taught me to be a man Uncle Mike, I admire you.

You didn’t just help me survive in this city. You showed me what it means to be a man, to take responsibility for my life.

You helped me find a good job, thanks to which I no longer rely on Grandma’s support.

You taught me important lessons—not through words, but actions.

You demonstrated how to do the right thing in life.

And now, I feel stronger.

We will bring you joy, as you brought us joy Yesterday, Daisy and I reminisced about an old song, where the character receives a cup of coffee with a Viennese roll in the morning from the landlady.

And we decided: from New Year’s, we will greet you in the mornings with aromatic coffee.

It’s the least we can do for you right now.

But believe us, we will definitely thank you as you deserve.

And now—our main gift Finally,

We decided to share this news with you through a letter.

Daisy is pregnant!

When we saw the two lines on the test, we screamed with joy.

You worried, thinking we had an argument…

No, it was happiness!

Once, you gave me a chance. Then you helped Daisy return.

Now, it’s time to welcome a new life.

We are confident you will be as happy as we are.

Our little one will be born in August.

And if it weren’t for you, none of this might have happened.

Thank you.

Take care, our dear ones. Without you, our lives wouldn’t be as bright.
