William Carterthe father of Sophie, who tragically lost her life in a horrific lorry crashshared a heartfelt plea on social media, calling for support for the family struck by tragedy in Brighton.
Young Oliver remains unconscious after the devastating collision, while his 35-year-old mother, Emily, has been declared brain-dead. Both are in intensive care at the Royal Sussex County Hospital, where doctors are fighting to save them.
This is what William Carter wrote:
“My dear child, wherever you are, please help these kind souls. They need compassion. Lord, bring Emily and Oliver back to life. Amen.”
“Good people of EnglandChristians, Muslims, Jews, all who believeI write to you with hope and a plea. Yesterday, I stood with Emily and Olivers familydecent, hardworking people.
In my thoughts and actions, I am with them. I understand and feel their pain more deeply than most,” wrote the grieving father, sharing in their sorrow.
He then made a sincere request: “Pray for this familywhether in a church, mosque, or synagogue. God is one, though called by many names. There is a force that moves this world. What we call it, or how we worship, does not matter. We are all English, regardless of faith, race, or origin. We are all human.”
Through shared grief, we remember that kindness binds usno matter our differences.
