The day was meant to be perfect: flowers, music, guests in their finest suits, and the brides sparkling white gown. The groom looked overjoyed, standing beside his loyal dog, Max, whom he had trained to follow him everywhere. Max was a gentle, well-behaved doga true companion the man considered part of the family.
But the bride clearly didnt share the same affection. She wrinkled her nose whenever Max came near, complained he smelled like a dog, and insisted he be removed. The groom tried to ease the tension, assuring her Max wouldnt disrupt the day, but the bride was adamant.
During the ceremony, the bride grew increasingly unpleasant: she snapped at the grooms mother, mocked a guests gift, and started drinking too much champagne. The groom was embarrassed by her behavior but bit his tongueit was, after all, their wedding day.
Then, something unexpected happened. Max suddenly bit the brides hand, despite always being calm and affectionate. The bride screamed, grabbed a bottle to hit the dog, but the groom stepped in. When he realized why Max had bitten her, he called off the wedding.
The climax came when Max stood quietly beside his owner. The bride walked over, glared at the groom, and deliberately stepped on Maxs tail. The dog yelped and bit her hand in self-defense. Everyone froze.
The bride shrieked in pain, snatched a bottle from the table, and raised it to strike Max.
Dont touch my dogyou provoked him! the groom snapped.
The brides face twisted with rage. I stepped on his tail by accident!
By accident? The groom stared her down. Was it also an accident when you raised that bottle?
The bride faltered, scrambling for an excuse.
I didnt know what I was doingmy hand hurt. It was the shock.
The groom knelt beside Max, who trembled with his ears pinned back.
What shock? he said coldly. Do you always attack those weaker than you?
The bride clutched her injured hand, lost for words.
The groom stood and said calmly, There wont be a wedding.
He hugged Max tightly, and the dog licked his hand in gratitude. The guests, still stunned, exchanged uneasy glances.
What do you think? Did the groom do the right thing?
