Doris moved to the capital from her studies, rented an apartment and started working. At the same time, Doris’ half-brother was born and she realized that her life had turned upside down.

Doris’ parents divorced when she was 13 years old. The girl’s father never remarried, and a few years later her mother met her former classmate whom they used to date and realized that fate had brought them together again.

The man treated Doris well, but there was no special warmth from him, as well as from her mother. So, the woman later got carried away with her new family, and became indifferent to Doris.

When Doris moved to the capital from her studies, she rented an apartment and got a job there, because her parents immediately made it clear that they were not going to pay much. Around that time Doris’s half-brother, Fred, was born, and all the attention of her parents went to him. However, Doris got used to her parents’ indifference.

Time passed, Doris got married, graduated from university, got a job and soon gave birth to a son. Then Fred was going to the capital to study, and the girl’s parents asked to shelter the boy for a while. Doris and her husband lived in a spacious two-room apartment and quickly agreed to help. During the years of Fred’s life in Doris’s house, the parents often visited them, brought food, helped with money as much as they could.

Then Fred got married, moved to a rented apartment with his wife, and his parents eventually forgot about Doris’ existence. They stopped visiting her, calling her even on holidays.

Once Doris’ parents bought Fred a car. Then the mother told her daughter that her husband could afford a better car, and her brother was in a difficult financial situation and needed help. Doris understood that, but when her parents took out a loan to buy her brother an apartment, she called her mother and reminded her that she was her daughter too. Then Doris’s mother had nothing to say. She said that Fred was going to close the loan himself, but that did not save the situation.

Doris realized that she was unnecessary in her family. She didn’t say anything to her mother, just stopped calling her, and she didn’t expect much from her daughter…

Doris is living a wonderful life with her family. She and her husband are planning a second child, because their little boy already goes to kindergarten.
