Street fights have consequences in the lives of dogs that are sometimes irreparable. However, Marchas could have had a different fate, as his tears of gratitude tell us.
Dog that was used for street fights is rescued and cries when he is given his little bed
According to a BBC investigation, it is not in the nature of dogs to fight to the death; therefore, street fights are created by the same humans who induce dogs and provoke them to make their bets.
It is true that animal fights have been a very old pastime in many cultures, however, today they are more popular than ever with the spread of the Internet. So today fighting dogs are still bred, trained, bought and sold.
The story of Manchas, a dog that was used in street fights by his former owners, is quite moving because of his past and his new present. Here you can learn about the life of this grateful dog who did not hold back tears when he received his own bed. During his first 3 years of life, Manchas was used for street fights, he was not fed or cared for properly and so he developed skin cancer. But one day he arrived at the home of Abigaíl Castro, his new owner, and she took him in as part of the family.
The first thing she did was to take him to the vet and there they started his treatment for his skin and wounds. However, Abigaíl did not know how Manchas had arrived at her home, so she decided to look for his owner through social networks and an anonymous person told her that he belonged to some neighbors who forced him to fight illegally in the streets. Manchas lived tied up at all times and was only released when it was time to fight. Abigaíl tried to contact these people, but they never gave her an answer. And that is how Manchas became part of her home.
Manchas didn’t know what affection and love from humans was, until he came to Abigaíl’s family. His nights chained up and sleeping on the floor were over. He now had a roof over his head and a family who cared about his health and gave him lots of love.
Over time, this pit bull terrier became very social and loved by Abigaíl’s other dogs. However, she noticed that Manchas always stared at the other dogs’ beds and never dared to approach them. Because of this, Abigail decided to buy Manchas a bed according to his size. Something normal and necessary for her, but an act of love for the dog; because the big surprise happened when Manchas reacted to her gift.
Abigaíl told the dog that this was his bed from now on and immediately he lay down on it and tears started to come out of his eyes. Manchas was crying. Apparently he could not believe that all this was true.
Undoubtedly this story shows the great nobility of dogs, no matter what they have lived through. An example of gratitude and of learning to value what life gives.
