David and Diana have been married for eight years. When they got married, they did not immediately have children. They approached this issue very responsibly. They decided to collect a round sum of money first, and only then to plan a child. They did not want to face financial problems during pregnancy and after the birth of the child, they wanted to enjoy every minute with the child.
David dreamed of an heir, wanted to teach his son to ride a bike, go fishing with him, teach him to fight. But the test showed that a girl would be born. David at first despaired. However, this sad state did not last long. A couple of days later he returned home with big bags, bought his daughter all sorts of girly things, hairpins, headbands, hats. Diana laughed, because newborns do not need such things yet, but she was glad that her husband accepted the baby and was ready for her appearance.
The time came for Diana to give birth, contractions began, and her husband took her to the hospital. Everything went well, the baby is healthy, Diana’s condition is good, but something unpleasant happened. During the birth, the midwife called Diana old-fashioned several times, and Diana had a residue from this. It seems that nowadays it is normal to give birth at thirty-four, and the midwife should have already got used to this, but she said that to her, and it ended with a psychological trauma.
The discharge of Diana and her daughter was unforgettable. David did a good job. Balloons, flowers, fairies, a photographer who captured these moments. The father took his daughter in his arms and almost cried. It was a long-awaited moment for him. And Diana only dreamed of being home as soon as possible.
During the first six months, Diana managed to turn from a gorgeous and young girl into a typical mother with a careless bun on her head and always tired look. The fact is that the child slept only in her arms, her husband did not help her. He only worked, disappeared in the office. When he returned home, he kissed his wife, sat with his daughter for about fifteen minutes and then just rested. Diana repeatedly told her husband that she needed help. But David had an argument: “your daughter will grow up and you will feel better”.
Soon Diana got tired of this situation. She decided to call a nanny twice a week for a couple of hours and go about her business. During this time she managed to go to the salon, shop and get some sleep. Soon Diana’s maternity leave came to an end and she was looking forward to going back to work when her husband started talking about a second child.
– I love our daughter very much, and I don’t want any more children. You must have forgotten that I am almost thirty-six. If you want it so much, I can give birth, but you will be the one who will sit with the child during the maternity leave!” – Diana said.
After that David did not talk to his wife for a month. She did not ask him to. “If he wants, he can go to another woman who will give birth to his child. If he does, I will only be convinced that my decision not to have a second child was right.”
