Devastated puppy stays by her mother’s side on the road, waiting for her to wake up. The life of animals living on the street is very hard. In this context, they got a devastated puppy who refused to be separated from her mother’s body. That was the case of this puppy’s mother who was left devastated and alone.
Countless puppies have been left without a mother, father or siblings after being run over by a vehicle. On many occasions, we have seen videos where a dog tries to rescue the body of another furry dog in the middle of a highway. Although it is something we have seen many times, it is still a heartbreaking scene. This reality causes enormous sadness, as much as what the devastated puppy went through in the face of her mother’s suffering after being hit by a car.
As best she could, she crawled to the edge of the tracks with her pup, and soon after she died. In the meantime, her little daughter stayed by her side waiting for her to wake up, as she did not understand what was happening. Immediately, she called an organization that came to the scene to attend to the situation of the hit-and-run dog and her puppy, the devastated puppy.
The organization arranged for a proper burial for the accident victim. At the same time, the puppy’s behavior showed only one thing, she wanted her mother back. She refused to be fed with the formula milk offered to her, as she was heartbroken and did not show any desire to do anything. From the shelter they gave him all the time and attention he needed even though he refused almost everything. It was a matter of giving her a space to heal her heart, although those in charge of her care began to doubt whether she would be able to overcome her grief. So they acted in a disciplined manner to get her back on her feet. She was hydrated intravenously and given the nutrition she needed. The priority for the vets and rescuers was to keep her alive and encourage her to keep going.
Although the puppy was devastated by the death of her mother, she gradually began to recover. The specialists and volunteers who care for her chose to respect her time of mourning. Once she overcomes the pain caused by her mother’s death, the organization will take a step forward to find her a suitable family. All dogs deserve to live in a home where their rights are respected and their welfare is guaranteed. Ideally, there should be no pets wandering and exposed to the dangers of the street.
