Cat Assists Owner Running Late for Work

A former colleague once shared a funny story about her cat. At home, she has a large, beautiful white cat who’s remarkably clever and quick-witted.

She can talk about her beloved pet for ages, and I always find it fascinating to listen and marvel at how intelligent our pets really are.

Just the other day, she experienced a surprising event that made her respect her feline companion even more.

One morning, she woke up in a panic, realizing she had overslept for work.

For some reason, the alarm didn’t ring on time, leaving her just 20 minutes before her workday began.

She still needed to dress up, put on makeup, have breakfast, and get to the office.

Rushing around her flat, she was pulling on her dress with one hand and combing her hair with the other.

She fretted aloud about how her boss would reprimand her for being late.

Then she noticed her cat sitting on the bed, watching her keenly, moving its head side to side, observing her frantic morning routine.

Pausing for a moment, she realized she also had to feed the cat. She darted into the kitchen, quickly filling up its bowl with food.

Regretting that she wouldn’t have time to pack a lunch for herself, she dashed to the bathroom to apply mascara.

Looking in the mirror, she saw her cat darting back and forth between the kitchen and the hallway.

Momentarily distracted from her makeup, she observed her pet for a few seconds.

The cat would dart to her purse by the front door, poke its head inside, and then run back to the kitchen, repeating the trip several times.

Curious about its behavior yet pressed for time, she hurriedly finished getting ready, threw on her coat, grabbed her bag, and rushed out the door.

Strangely enough, her boss didn’t scold her that day, seemingly having been late himself or dealing with something else.

Her morning at work went smoothly, following the usual routine.

When lunchtime approached, she remembered she hadn’t brought anything to eat from home.

She intended to pop into the nearest shop for a yogurt and a bun.

Reaching for her purse, she checked to ensure she hadn’t forgotten her wallet in her morning rush. That’s when she came across something small scattered at the bottom.

To her surprise, along with her keys and lipstick, some pieces of dry cat food fell onto the table.

Initially, she couldn’t understand how they ended up in her purse, but then she recalled her cat’s strange morning behavior.

It hadn’t been running between the kitchen and her bag for no reason. It had been trying to pack her a lunch for work.

Apparently, her smart pet realized she hadn’t managed to prepare a snack for herself, so it did what it could to care for its favorite human.

How can you not acknowledge after such an event that our pets understand us and will inevitably come to our aid in challenging moments?
