Today has been one of those days I never want to forget. The instant I saw Duffy, he dashed over to us with uncontainable happiness, his tail wagging so fast it was almost a blur. He greeted everyone with an avalanche of licks and cuddlesit was obvious how grateful he was to finally be surrounded by his favourite people again. If ever there was a perfect family reunion, this was it.
Even with all the bumps along the way, Duffy never lost his cheerful spirit for a second. I started sharing his journey on Instagram through @englishtenterrierduffy, and astonishingly, over 45,000 people have followed along. The photos show Duffy’s sunny disposition, despite the challengeswhether eating alone or enduring countless trips to the vet.
The vet prescribed a new diet and now hes so much better! Ive written. He occasionally forgets who I am, but more often than not, he recognises me and showers me with affection. It just proves how vital it is to have regular check-ups for your pets, even when they look perfectly fine.
Now Duffy is full of life again, happiest running around and chasing after tennis balls like any proper English terrier. I couldnt be prouder of my four-legged mate.
Having Duffy back with us feels nothing short of miraculous. We managed to gather enough pounds for his surgery, and seeing his pure elation when reuniting with us was unforgettablethe excitement spilling over from every part of him.
