TTirado sniffed his last suitcase before retiring with his trainer, who adopted him and welcomed him home. The team prepared a surprise for the dog for his years of service. Working is an activity that is generally associated with people, but there are some jobs that they cannot do so well and animals like puppies can. One of them is detecting explosives at airports.

TTirado is one of them. A very prominent black Labrador at the Indianapolis International Airport (United States), but just like humans, they also have to retire from their work one day and rest after serving for years. The Labrador spent eight years of his life sniffing passengers’ bags and suitcases to protect them from danger. When it was time for him to retire, his teammates prepared a big surprise for him that he will never forget.

The workers placed a suitcase in a corner of the airport, attached to a sofa in a room decorated with colorful balloons. Through a video posted by the site’s Instagram account, TTirado can be seen arriving to where the suitcase is located to sniff it. Activity to which he is so used to that he did not suspect anything of what could happen. He was very concentrated observing and smelling the object, while wagging his tail rapidly, until a noise was heard from the ceiling.
It was then that many tennis balls suddenly began to fall from the ceiling, catching TTirado completely off guard. Noticing these toys, he prepared to spring into action and go after them all. He took great pains to chase more than one around the room since, like most dogs, he can’t resist these sports balls.

The idea of this plan, was that it would become his last suspicious artifact detection, but with a fun and tender ending. Besides the fact that he will not go alone, because his trainer adopted him and will spend the rest of his life with him in his new home, as detailed by the airport’s account on Instagram. “Happy retirement to @TSA screening canine and very good boy, TTirado!” they wished him from the profile of his former workplace.
