At Our Wedding, My Husband Smashed a Huge Piece of Cake in My Face and Laughed—So I Planned the Perfect Revenge

At our wedding, my husband grabbed a huge slice of cake, smeared it all over my face, and laughed loudlyso I decided to get my own back.
Wed been together since we were kids. From school days, we were inseparableshared friends, first love, the whole fairy-tale romance. By twenty-five, we both knew it was time to settle down. The wedding felt like the natural next step.
Id prepared meticulously for the big day: picked the perfect dress, booked a top-notch makeup artist, splurged on expensive treatmentsall to look flawless. With our friends and family gathered, it seemed like everything was falling into place just as Id dreamed.
Until we reached the wedding cake.
Theres a tradition in our town: the bride and groom cut the cake and feed each other a piece. I picked up the knife, he helped meand then he leaned in and whispered in my ear:
*”What if I just shove your face into the cake? Itd be hilarious.”*
*”Dont you dare. Youll ruin everything.”*
*”Fine,”* he smirked, and I thought that was the end of it.
But a minute later, he grabbed a massive chunk of cake and wiped it across my face. Then he burst out laughing. The guests joined incheering, clapping, filming it all on their phones.
*”Well? Appreciate the joke! Told you itd be funny!”* he crowed to his mates.
Funny for everyone but me. There I stood, in an expensive dress, my hair and makeup wrecked, fighting back tears. Everything Id poured my heart into had been ruined in an instant.
He kept laughinguntil I did something he clearly didnt expect. Ill tell you what I did, and you can judge if I was right. More in the comments
I grabbed an even bigger slice and smeared it right across his £4,000 bespoke suit. He stopped laughing immediately. His friends, however, found it even funnier.
*”Do you have any idea how much this cost?! This suit is worth more than you!”* he screamed.
*”I know,”* I said calmly. *”Not so funny now, is it? Just a joke, love. Doesnt feel great, does it?”*
I slipped off my ring, pressed it into his palm, and walked out of the room with my head high. Right then, I decided: our marriage wouldnt start with a “joke” like that. Were done. Over.
