As If! The Substitute Teacher Thought He’d Live in My Flat at My Expense.

I’ve always considered myself incredibly lucky because I’ve always been very driven and determined. By the age of 25, I managed to save up enough on my own to buy a flat in Manchester.

I didnt receive any help from my parents or any relativesI did it all by myself. When I fell for a man Id met, I was bold enough to tell him that I owned my own place.

Still, I made it clear that I wasnt going to move into his place. We agreed that he would find us somewhere to rent together, and I would let out my flat to help save for a car.

He agreed to the plan and promised hed soon have enough saved for rent so we could live together. Six months later, he turned up on my doorstep with a suitcase and told me hed lost his job and was skint.

He asked if I could let him stay for a while. At least he had his own family to turn to. No, I didnt take him in. I believe he was just looking for an excuse to sponge off me, nothing more. Eventually, I broke things off with him.
