Anna was always confused with another girl. And when she learned about the terrible secret of her childhood, she almost lost her mind.

Olivia and Anna were two and a half years old when Olivia was stolen. They were playing in the sandbox, and their grandmother was sitting on a bench talking with her friends. A woman came up to the children, talked to them, took Olivia by the hand and led her away. Olivia was never found: neither the police, nor the parents, nor the grandmother, who ran around the neighborhood, showed Anna’s photo to passers-by and asked if they had seen a similar girl.

Many years passed. Anna was preparing to pass the entrance exams. She studied well, but was worried before the exam.

– Granddaughter, go drink some tea, rest a little, – called Anna’s grandmother.

– I’m coming, grandma.

Anna talked to the photo of her sister, asked to be with her during the exam. She often did this because deep down she felt that her sister was alive and waiting to meet her. Anna put on her school uniform and went to the exam. At the entrance to the school, a boy approached her.

– Lucy, why are you so pretty today? All dressed up for the exam?

– I’m not Lucy, sorry.

– At least don’t make jokes on the exam. Okay, I’ll run, good luck, – the guy said and left.

At the entrance to the school, everyone’s passports were checked. The woman checking looked at Anna and said:

– “Girl, you have just entered.

– No, I just came.

She was let through. Anna realized that she was being confused with Olivia. There are no such coincidences. They were seated in different classrooms. That guy was sitting behind her.

– Don’t worry, we’ll get through! – he said.

She did not pass the exam as well as she expected. But it was not important at that moment. She knew she had a chance to find her sister. After the exam, she went out into the corridor. That guy came up to her and started asking her questions. Suddenly, she heard a voice that sounded so much like her. Time stopped.

– Hey, Karl! I’ve been gone half an hour and you’re already meeting other girls?

Anna and Karl returned.

– Wow, he whistled.

– You? Who are you? I feel like I’m looking in a mirror, – Olivia-Lucy said.

– I’m Anna. We’re twin sisters.

– But… I’m my mother’s only child.

– She stole you when we were two and a half years old. We’ve been looking for you for so long.

– Mom, where are our parents?

– At home. Please, let’s go home. We’ve waited so long for this meeting.

Olivia agreed. They went home.

– You go in first, so that grandma doesn’t get scared, – Olivia said to Anna.

– Grandma? Where are you? I met someone here… she is waiting in the entrance.

– Olivia? Is it Olivia?” Grandma felt in her heart.

When Olivia saw her grandmother, she remembered those moments of childhood she spent with them. In the evening, the parents returned. The family reunited. Olivia started living in two houses. She did not leave the woman she considered her mother, but did not know how to treat her.
