Nine-year-old Alina was often left alone at home – her father and mother were at work, her grandmother was always at the summer house in the summer. Often the girl would go out for a day walk, and by evening she would go home, waiting for her parents. Like everyone else, they ordered their daughter not to open up to strangers, no matter who they introduced themselves as – there were many evil people, cheaters, thieves, or worse.
On a summer evening, when her father was away on a business trip and her mother was delayed by a corporate party, Alina sat alone for a long time watching TV. She did not hear the phone in the next room, which was on charge, and she missed her mother’s call – she wanted to let her know that a neighbor was coming over to Alina’s house to bring her dinner. So the girl was really frightened when the doorbell rang. Sneaking into the hallway on tiptoe, she tried to reach her pupil, but without a stool it was impossible.
The neighbor knew for sure that Alina was home, so she spoke to the girl, saying that her mother had sent her, that she had only brought fresh pancakes, that she would not even come in, just let her open the door.
Alina thought at once that this woman was suspicious. Alina had never seen her, so why would she bring her pancakes? And her mother never said anything of the kind. Taking her parents’ advice, Alina told the stranger to leave, or she would call the police.
The neighbor was stunned and complained to Alina’s mother about her daughter and the threats of the police. Not everyone who comes, by all means, wants to harm the child.
Mom and Dad then laughed for a long time – such a little girl, and listened carefully to her parents. They couldn’t even bribe her with pancakes…
