Their marriage lasted 11 years. During this time, feelings between them cooled down a bit, but overall their relationship was good. One day, her husband’s work partner invited them to his anniversary party.
Julia decided to prepare and baked her signature cake. They arrived at the place and went up to the right floor.
There was no light in the corridor. Apparently, a light bulb had burned out. They approached the door and knocked. Suddenly the woman noticed that her stocking had slipped. Julia put the cake on a nearby bedside table and sat down to put everything in order.
The door opened and the birthday boy came out and exclaimed joyfully:
– You finally showed up!
After these words he hugged the man and pulled him inside. The front door closed, and Julia remained unnoticed in the corridor.
The woman decided that this is a funny situation and now they will remember about it. But she will be able to joke that the cake delivery arrived when the door opens.
The cake was heavy, but Julia held it so as not to spoil the joke. But time passed, and no one noticed her absence.
If the guests can still be understood, how could her husband forget about her? Whether there is a wife or not – it’s the same. An empty place.
Half an hour passed, and Julia continued to stand with the cake. She was no longer happy, but sad and bitter.
At the 54th minute her phone rang.
– Where are you? – asked a joyful man.
– I’m standing outside the door.
– What? Still outside the door? Why didn’t you come in?
– Why? – Julia answered.
– What do you mean?
The door locks rattled. A man looked out into the corridor.
– Cake delivery! – Julia said and gave the box to the surprised man. – My specialty. Cut it carefully. Bye.
After these words Julia turned around and walked away. The next day she filed for divorce. That’s what those 54 minutes cost the man.
What would you do if you were a woman?
