A rich director did not want to change her “push-button” phone, and only I could understand why!

I work as a teacher at a private school, and this profession requires me to “rejuvenate” along with my students. You can’t keep up, so our principal always looks young and stylish. She even wears a fitness watch, and she has a fancy computer in her office, and she can do so many things on it that not many young teachers can boast of. But she had one feature that my colleagues and I liked to joke about: her phone. She had an old “push-button” phone that she had been carrying around for probably 20 years…

Several times we tried to convince her to buy a new phone because it was more convenient, but she just got annoyed: “I didn’t ask you for advice on whether I should change my phone! Maybe I should change the employees who impose their opinions!”

My colleagues and I even developed a kind of tradition. For her birthday, we bought certificates to electronics stores, and twice we even gave her a phone, but she didn’t even unpack it, she gave it to one of her children or grandchildren.

And then a significant event happened. The phone fell, the back cover fell off and the screen was broken, and my colleagues and I decided that she would definitely come back with a new phone, but the next day we saw the same phone on her desk, but taped up.

We laughed out loud, and the literature teacher joked that perhaps death was hidden in her phone? However, behind the jokes, we all had an undisguised interest in why this ordinary old thing was so expensive for the principal.

One day I was walking through the market and it occurred to me that I could solve this mystery, so I started looking for what I needed.

And the next morning I came to her office and handed her a gift box: “I wasn’t sure what to get you for March 8, but for some reason I think you’ll like this gift!” She looked at me with incomprehension, but she started to open the gift anyway. In the box was the back cover of her old cell phone. She took it in her hands and began to turn it around as if it were a real treasure, and then burst into tears…

After that, she hugged me and asked me to remove the tape and replace the cover with a new one.

– “Oh, I had no idea you were so attentive! Now my phone will be as good as new again! I know what you say about me behind my back and how you mock me, but this is a real treasure for me that I will never trade! This piece of metal contains the last phone conversation I had with my late husband. He says that he misses me very much and is in a hurry to come home…. Half an hour after that, he died in an accident. I still have his voice in this piece of metal, so he will always be with me.

So there you have it, the answer to why the “rich director” loves her old phone so much.
