Long ago, during the great flood that swept through the countryside, a wild lynx was swept into the rushing waters, struggling helplessly to keep afloat. Word of this plight quickly reached the local wardens, who hurried to the scene and managed to pull the creature from the torrent.
Once safely ashore, the lynx was gently sedated and carried to a remote woodland, where it could recover in peace.
Given how weakened it was, it stood little chance of surviving on its own in such a vulnerable state. Left unattended, it would likely have fallen victim to a larger predator or been captured. By taking the lynx under their care, the wardens offered it a fresh start and a chance of life that it might never have seen otherwise.
