A funny story about my mother-in-law. She used to invite us to dinner, knowing that after work I couldn’t even open the door on my own.

My mother-in-law is a real lady… I could have ended the story with those words, because I put all my heart into that sentence, but I’ll continue for clarity. Every evening I came home from work and just fell on the couch. Imagine how much at such moments I might want to cook something for my fiancé. One day I came into the house and heard my husband talking on the phone. Apparently, it had just begun: “Yes. Mommy, hi. Yes…, yes… no, I haven’t eaten yet! She just came in, she’ll cook something when she’s in the mood. Of course I’m hungry, I just had breakfast today. Hunger is not the end, mommy, I’m tired. So… are you inviting me over?

I was so angry that I didn’t even say anything during this conversation. I stood there with my fists clenched. And after he hung up the phone, he said with an innocent smile, jumping up and down, that “mom invites us to dinner” and began to list all the dishes she periodically prepared for dinner.

Another reason for my presence at the dinner was that the minutes my husband spent alone with his mother were bad for our relationship. When I gathered all the will in my fist and went to see her, I mentally divorced my husband every 2 minutes. You can’t imagine how they were washing my bones even in my presence. Later we got divorced. Now I am married for the second time. We both work and are very tired, so we now take turns cooking. Thanks to this, peace and harmony reign in our home.
