We got married as students, in love with each other. We did not even have money to buy a bouquet, the groom picked them on the nearest flowerbed. I got married as a virgin. We lived with my mother. She supported us while we were studying. My husband and I lived very amicably. We walked together, first two, then three with the child, got up together at night to our son when he cried. We also babysat and washed our son’s diapers together. And then came the crazy nineties. The hard times. The man tried to earn money by all available means.
He managed to get a job at a company as a programmer. He worked there for ten years. He gained experience and managed to open his own company dealing with software products. Our family’s income was steadily going up. We bought an apartment, a car, a dacha. We did not deny ourselves anything. And one day my husband offered me to quit my job and take care of my home and family. I agreed. Our son was good with computers from school, graduated from the university with a degree in Applied Mathematics. His father took him to work. But after a couple of days of work, my son “pleased” me with the news.
It turns out that my husband has a young mistress. Happy times were over for me. I had to either break up or pretend that nothing had happened. I chose the second option. I hoped that maybe his fascination would pass. Why make a scandal prematurely? But three months later my husband confessed everything to me. He said that he had fallen in love and his wife was pregnant with his child. He also said that he did not want to divorce me, because we lived together. He would live with her and provide me with money as usual. He promised to give half of his business to my son… I have a feeling that my heart was torn out of my chest.
