There Was a Female Doctor Teaching at the University’s Military Department

There was a doctor who used to teach at the universitys military department. She had spent her whole life working in a childrens hospital. Once, she shared something quite fascinating. Despite being a doctor, all of her children seemed to catch every contagious illness that went around. She was forever exhausted from treating them for all sorts of bugs and viruses, no matter how lively and cheerful her kids were.

Of course, the doctor was always careful with hygiene. Whenever she got home, shed immediately take a shower, change her clothes, and scrub her handsyet, somehow, her children managed to come down with exactly the same illnesses as the patients shed been treating. And if shed had a rough day at work with a particularly nasty case, her kids would fall ill almost straight away. Vitamins did nothing, nor did getting them outdoors for a bit of cold weather tougheningeventually, the mother-doctor was simply at her wits end.

One day, she was absolutely knackered after a tough day at the hospital. She dreaded going home, almost certain her little ones would get sick again. Instead of heading straight back, she decided, on a whim, to catch a filman Indiana Jones adventure at the local cinema. After the movie, still feeling guilty but exhilarated, she returned home. Strangely enough, the children were still bouncing around, healthy as ever.

Another day, rather than rushing home, she popped round to a friends place for a cuppa and a biscuit, enjoying a good laugh over some silly joke. Once again, her children stayed fit as fiddles.

Gradually, it became her routine not to rush home after work, despite being utterly shattered and having a pile of chores waiting for her. Instead, shed wander through a small park not far from her house, full of lovely flowers and a little fountain. She would linger a while, resting on a bench, before heading home. From that point on, the children stayed well.

The doctor drew a conclusion: it wasnt just germs that mattered. It was the sort of energy and information she carried home with her. She reckoned it was the atmosphere she brought back that had been affecting her children, not only the microbes themselves. Ever since shed taken to unwinding before seeing her family, illness had not darkened their door.

So, in truth, its really not such a good idea to dash home to your loved ones when youre feeling troubled or weighed down. Sometimes, without saying a word, you might inadvertently bring that heavy feeling with you. After a stressful event, its best to change your surroundings for a bit before returning homeshift your mood, soak in something pleasant, have a stroll through the park or lose yourself in a good film. Only then, come back to those who mean the most to you. No one can quite explain how it works yet, but it certainly doesthe difference is remarkable.
