At a grand wedding, right as food is being passed around, a boy suddenly freezes after recognising the bride as his long-lost mother. The grooms decision brings everyone to tears
The boys name is Oliver. Hes ten years old.
Years ago, a homeless man named Arthur found him as a baby under a bridge by the River Thames in London. Oliver was lying in a plastic washing-up bowl after a heavy downpour. On his wrist was an old red bracelet. Next to him lay a damp note: Please care for him. His name is Oliver.
Arthur, with no home of his own, took the boy in. He fed him with whatever scraps he could find and kept him warm however possible. Arthur always said, If you ever find your mum, forgive her. No one abandons a child without heartbreak.
Over the years, Arthurs health declined. Oliver began to beg for spare change and one day found himself at a lavish wedding in a country manor near Windsor. Someone handed him a plate of food.
When the bride entered, Oliver stopped dead in his tracks. On her wrist, he saw the very same red bracelet.
He quietly approached her and softly asked if she was his mother.
The woman turned pale. She had secretly given birth as a teenager at seventeen, frightened by her familys expectations, and left the child by the river, hoping someone kind would find him. She had tried to search for himunsuccessfully.
The groom halted the ceremony. He declared he would accept not just her, but everything from her past. If the boy was her son, then he would be his son as well.
Then he revealed something more: Arthur was his biological father, with whom hed lost contact long agothe very man who had rescued the boy.
That day, the wedding still took place. But first, everyone drove to hospital to see Arthur.
The old man saw them together and whispered, The heart always brings back those it has loved.
For the first time in his life, Oliver felt that he truly had a family. And not just one, but two.
