**Scene 1: The Find**
It was one of those calm, sunny afternoons. A little boy, probably about seven, was sitting on a park bench, turning over an old leather wallet hed just discovered hidden in the grass. He opened up the slot where youd put your cards, and then he just froze. Staring out at him from behind a clear plastic window was the smiling face of a woman.
**Scene 2: The Owner**
Suddenly, a man in a sharp suit comes hurrying up to the bench. You could see the relief written all over his facehe was panting like hed run halfway across town.
Thank you for finding it! Thats extremely important to me, he said, reaching out for the wallet.
**Scene 3: The Unexpected Question**
But the boy wouldnt hand it over straight away. He just clutched the wallet to his chest and looked right up at the man, his voice quivering slightly as he asked:
Why do you have a photo of my mum in here?
**Scene 4: Shock**
The mans knees just seemed to buckle, and he slowly sank down till he was eye-level with the child. His face went as pale as chalk. Barely moving his lips, he whispered:
That cant be Thats my wife. She disappeared seven years ago.

The boy rummaged in his jacket pocket and pulled out a photoexactly the same one, only a bit more dog-eared around the edges.
Shes waiting for me at the playground right now, he said, pointing towards the swings.
The mans eyes widened; he looked like hed seen a ghost. Very slowly, he turned and looked towards the playground

The manhe was called Jamesstaggered to his feet, legs wobbling under him. Over by the sandpit, sitting on a bench, was a woman in a light coat. As they got closer, she looked up from her book. Their eyes met, and the book just slipped out of her hands into the sand.
Claire?.. James breathed.
She didnt run away. Instead, she just covered her face and burst into tears. Turns out, seven years earlier, Claire had been in a horrible car crash miles away in another city. She lost all her memorycouldnt remember her name, where she was from, nothing. At the time, she was already pregnant but didnt realise, and shed been living under a different name ever since, raising her son on her own, thinking her life began from that blank day in the hospital.
