One morning, my father was driving to work and stopped at a petrol station to fill up. There, he noticed a young pregnant woman, about nineteen years old, who was begging for help. She approached him and asked if he could spare some change, but he apologised, saying he didnt have any coins, then got back into his car, ready to leave.
But after a moments thought, he stepped out again and asked her how shed found herself in such a difficult situation. She explained that shed had a falling out with her parents, who disapproved of her choices in life. Shed fallen pregnant outside of marriage and, as a result, theyd asked her to leave home. My father then asked if she had a job or any financial support, and she admitted she had neither.
After hearing her story, my father made a decision: he handed her his business card and suggested she call him the next day. She did, and he invited her to meet him at his office. He interviewed her, and a week later, she started working for him. At first, her duties were answering telephone calls and running simple errands. Over time, she proved herself and eventually became one of the deputy managers. Now, she has her own little family and is doing brilliantly.
