It is often said that men place the greatest value on a womans physical appearance. According to this notion, the ideal woman should be tall, long-legged, blonde, always smiling, and forever cheerful. But is this truly the case? Certainly, looks might be the first thing to capture someones attention, yet they are far from being the most significant.
I remember a friend of mine, William. We used to work together at the same firm in London, many years ago. One day, a new colleague joined our office. She looked strikingly like a young English film starlong legs, a dazzling smile, a figure that turned heads. Without a doubt, William was instantly taken with her.
In time, it became clear that his interest was reciprocated. One afternoon, she came to work hauling a rather large handbag. Naturally, William offered to help her carry it home. She gladly accepted, and William considered himself quite fortunate at that moment. Yet, just an hour after finishing work, he rang me up in absolute alarm.
As it turned out, when he stepped foot into her flat, he was utterly stunned. The place reeked dreadfully, as though something had died. It seemed the rubbish hadnt been taken out in weeks. Belongings and clutter littered every surface, rotten food was strewn about, even in the bed. To his horror, there were even maggots wriggling across the table.
William barely managed to keep his lunch down. But for the young lady, this chaos was nothing out of the ordinary. He confessed to me afterwards that her looks no longer held any appeal to him. In the end, what truly matters most in a woman is tidiness and the care she takes of her home.
