The couple has now been married for eight years. He does everything for her takes care of her, protects her, showers her with affection. Friends and family constantly remind the woman just how wonderful her husband is. Once, she lost her wedding ring in the sea during a holiday, and her husband had already bought her a new one within the same week.

The woman enjoyed his attention and expensive presents. She never really realised that she showered him with much less than he did her. On his birthdays shed usually just arrange a romantic dinner at home, while he always surprised her with something interesting and costly, along with a generous bouquet of roses. Generally speaking, she didnt often treat him to home-cooked feasts, thinking that after work, both of them were far too tired for much effort, and a quick sandwich or a takeaway would be just fine.
Her husband never once complained about this, but her mother did.
Youve got your second ring, and your husband still hasnt got his. Why havent you thought of buying him one all these years? All the ladies eye him up they dont even know hes married.
That struck a nerve. The woman always wished other women wouldnt stare at her husband, knowing full well that he was handsome enough to draw their attention. Shed never considered that it might simply be because he wasnt wearing a wedding ring.
At their wedding, they could only afford a ring for her, and he had worn a borrowed one just for the ceremony, returning it right afterwards. Even later, once they could have bought a ring for him, hed never got round to it, perhaps thinking it unnecessary or a bit of an extravagance.
She didnt search for an anniversary or a special date. She just decided to go out and buy him a ring a simple gold one, nothing too flashy. That evening, when her husband came home from work, he found a small velvet box waiting for him on the bedside table.
Whats this? he asked in confusion. Did you buy yourself something new?
Its for you, she replied, trying not to get too emotional.
He clearly wasnt expecting anything, but when he opened the box, he was genuinely touched.
You bought this for me? He slipped it onto his ring finger and hugged her tightly. Thank you! I was going to ask you if we could pick one out together, but getting it from you is well, its just so special! Is this your way of proposing to me for a second time?
They both laughed, shared a long embrace, and happily went to the kitchen together to cook dinner after all, the weekend is finally here.
