I Learned That A Baby Had Been Left At The ‘Safe Haven’ Cradle Beside The Maternity Ward – Three Months After My Husband Passed Away, I Chose To Adopt The Child And Build A New Family

I find out that someone has left a baby at the local Safe Haven near the maternity ward at St. Georges Hospital.

Three months after my husband passed away, I decide to adopt this child whod been abandoned by their parents. I gather all the necessary paperwork as quickly as I can. Soon after, I undergo a series of assessments from the various authorities, as well as inspections of my home and circumstances, all of which thankfully go well. Only a few days later, my son comes home with me. I love him as if he were my own. I give him my husbands nametheres something wonderful about being able to say and hear it again in my home. As my son grows, he begins asking about siblings.

The idea doesnt trouble me at all. I work remotely and can manage everything from my laptop, so its the perfect arrangement for us. When I return to bring home our newest child, my happiness is overwhelming. Im led to a room and shown a baby girl in a cot, just three days old. The instant I see her, I know she belongs with us. Drawing on my experience, I know exactly what documents well need and what checks will be required, so everything moves along much more quickly than I expect.

Now there are three of us: myself, my son Thomas, and my daughter Emily. Honestly, I dont think anyone could be happier than we are right now.
