Wed gone on a little family break abroad, and one day we found ourselves in a rather awkward spot.
Wed booked a guided tour that would take us to a few places you cant really get to on foot, so we set aside a whole day for it. I, Tom, our two lads, Jamie and Oliver, and I bought four tickets so each of us had a proper seat on the coach.
When we were settling in, a plump lady with a baby squeezed onto the bus right behind us. She tried to squeeze into the back seat, only to realise her son just wouldnt fit. She got up, looking around for another empty spot for the little one.
She eyed our skinny boys and thought she could plonk her child next to them. Tom stepped in and told her wed paid for those seats, so there was no reason to push the kids around. She didnt back down, even started arguing with the tour guide.
She kept insisting we should make room for her, even suggesting we scrap the tour and hand back our tickets. A few other tourists got involved, snapping pictures and calling us the selfie crew as if wed done something wrong.
Eventually the kids wriggled a bit, the driver waited for the fuss to settle, and the whole atmosphere was soured.
I cant help wonderingwere we in the right? Why should my boys have to squeeze into a cramped spot when Ive already bought them tickets? What do you think?
