**Diary Entry**
It was a day Ill never forgetthe courtroom heavy with silence, the weight of judgement pressing down. Jonathan Whitmore, a decorated former police officer, stood there, shoulders slumped, as the judge pronounced him guilty. The words echoed, final and damning. When given his chance to speak, he didnt plead innocence or argue his case. Instead, his request was painfully simple:
*”May I say goodbye to Max? Hes all I have left.”*
The judge hesitated, then nodded.
A hush fell over the room as Max, a strong, keen-eyed Alsatian, padded in. More than just a pet, hed been Jonathans partner for yearsloyal through every patrol, every danger. The moment Max saw him, he whined, restless, and bounded forward. Jonathan dropped to his knees, hugging him tightly, whispering thanks through tears. It felt like a heartbreaking farewell.
But then everything changed.
Without warning, Max pulled away and lunged at another officerDaniel, Jonathans former colleague and the key witness against him. Growling, Max stood on his hind legs, nosing at Daniels pocket. The room froze. Daniel tried to shove him off, but an officer stepped in, reaching into the pocket.
Inside was a flash drive.
When played in court, the files revealed everything: Daniel counting stacks of banknotes, forging documents. Then came the damning recordinghis voice, cold and calculated:
*”Well pin it all on Whitmore. Hes too proud to fight back.”*
The judge halted proceedings immediately. Daniel was arrested on the spot, and Jonathans case was suspended pending further investigation.
Amid the chaos, Max returned to Jonathans side, licking his cheeka quiet, loving gesture. Eyes brimming, Jonathan whispered, *”You saved me, Max.”*
