The lad lay in the wardpale, barely breathing. The medical team prepped him for emergency surgery. Every second counted No one knew if hed make it.

He bolted straight to the boy, licked his hands, then settled on his chest, staring into his eyes for agesas if he understood everything, as if he felt more than any human could.
