**Diary Entry**
That evening, as the hospital lay quiet, a sharp cry suddenly pierced the air. The doctors and nurses, startled, followed the sound, only to witness something utterly astonishing.
Under the dim glow of the empty reception hall, the silence was broken by faint but purposeful footsteps. The on-duty doctor glanced up from his paperwork, exchanging a quick look with the nurse before rushing toward the noise.
When they reached the entrance, all seemed stilluntil their eyes adjusted to the darkness. Someoneor somethingwas approaching. With a flick of the switch, the light revealed a disciplined Alsatian standing before them, holding a carefully wrapped parcel in its jaws, soaked in dark red. The nurses heart skipped a beat.
Every movement the dog made was precise, deliberate. As it drew closer, it set the parcel gently on the floor and gave a short, urgent barka silent plea for haste.
The doctor unravelled the packagethen froze. What lay inside shook them to the core.
The little girl couldnt have been more than ten, her pale face smudged with dirt and streaks of blood, her blonde hair tangled. Yet despite her fragile state, life still clung to her. The Alsatian stood close, watching the humans intently, its dark eyes filled with concern. It was as though it knew she was safe nowbut its duty wasnt over.
We have to move fast, the nurse whispered, voice barely steady as they lifted the girl onto a stretcher. The dog followed without hesitation, never once looking away.
The hospital corridor buzzed with activityIVs, oxygen masks, blanketsyet the Alsatian refused to leave. When the girl was settled, the dog let out a soft whine before curling up beside her, standing guard over her fragile rest.
No one understood where it had come from or why it had chosen this place. But deep down, they all felt it: had this dog not acted, the outcome would have been very different.
In that moment, the doctor realisedthis wasnt just any dog. It was a hero. And because of it, that little girl had a fighting chance.
