Over the past year, my mother-in-law, Ellen’s mum, has been looking after our granddaughter during the day, and in the evening, both Ellen and I take over the care. Everything was in good order during this period. Ellen’s mother was happy to look after her granddaughter and never complained.
But recently, things have changed significantly, and now she’s insisting on being relieved as our nanny. She hasn’t been particularly forthcoming about her reasons, simply stating her condition. When we tried to question her, she mentioned that the child needs interaction with other children and should get used to society as soon as possible.
Yes, it seems that such ideas are frequently mentioned on TV shows, and she started thinking similarly. My wife and I instantly ruled out sending her to preschool. Many of our friends complain that as soon as their child starts going to preschool, they constantly catch illnesses. So, we decided to avoid preschool for now; staying home would keep her healthier. She’s very important to us, and we give her all our attention.
